Do something worthwhile, preferably something that's not self-serving. Give what you can to a food bank. A hundred bucks or a can of beans, whatever you can give with a cheerful heart. Better yet, volunteer there. You'll get the double dose of doing something useful and rubbing shoulders with someone who thinks you have it made. Is there a park you like? Maybe they have a volunteer program of some sort. If they don't, go pick up cigarette butts for an hour. I bet you'll have a big bag when you get done, and for at least a moment, the world will be better off for you having been in it. Read a decent book. Not some trash novel, but one that says something. If you can't think of anything else, try "Cannery Row" or "The Pearl" both by John Steinbeck, and both short. Entertain the notion that maybe, just maybe, you're not just a bag of chemicals and there's something in the Universe greater than all of us. Try the Sermon on the Mount, Matthew Chapter 5-7. Get a modern translation, don't try to slog through the King James. Try the book of Proverbs, too. Does any that make sense to you? If not, what does? Go to different places of worship and see what they do. Maybe in the end you'll think it's all hooey. OK, but in the meantime, you'll be on a purposeful mission. And when you're through you'll at least have a solid reason for believing something, rather than just being cynically dismissive or thoughtlessly submissive, like most everybody else.

Depends on what your selfconcious about if it's your intelligence, learn to learn, if it's your physical appearance then learn how to work out. the key for It to work though is to learn how to do both these things when it comes down to it these activities are really skills some people have put more time towards one skill over the other. And if your worried that your not a good person then volunteer it literally makes you feel like a better person. If your self-esteem is low because of another reason let me know and If I know I'll answer it if I can help you

I used to have self-esteem issues myself. The thing that helped me was to wake up every morning and tell myself who cares for me, and I would list them out in my head (Jesus, Mom, Dad, Friends, ect.). Every night I would then take everything good out of my day and keep it in my head. Throw all that bad crap out of your head. If God Himself would die for you, Your life is worth living.

And if your not religious, and the God thing dosen't really help much, (or even if you are religious,) remember that everyone is made perfectly, in their own way. You have your unique talents, and your unique ways of thinking. Make a list of all the things about yourself that bother you, try to use as few words as possible for each one. Then look at the list and tell yourself that those things aren't as bad as you think they are, and a lot of people have those same qualities. Try to tell yourself that those things aren't true, and if they are, it's okay, because you're still wonderful. Then make a list of things you like about yourself, or things other people like about you. Read that list. Have someone you trust add to it. Also, add to that list yourself whenever you come up with something new. I used to keep a list of compliments people gave me that I particularly liked, and that helped a lot too.

Remember life is only as bad as you perceive it to be. Tell yourself that things are fine, and try your best to believe it. Laugh at anything you find funny, and don't forget to let yourself enjoy life. Be open to letting happiness in. You are wonderful, amazing, beautiful, and absolutely perfect, so don't forget it. You are entitled to happiness.

You can boost your self esteem by telling yourself that you are pretty and smart everyday. You can also do one thing a day that you are good at to remind yourself how good you are at something.

for me i look at something that i like the best about myself during that day. It can be your personality or the way you look. I built up self esteem as i turned 15 i dont know why. But depending how old you are if your younf like 10 you will get higher self esteem as you grow up. If your a teen try the first line of this. if you do this long enough you will accept yourself and won't care what anyone thinks. That's how i got my self esteem

Compliment other people (they compliment back), smile, go on a diet (a proper diet, don't just stop eating), get a little exercise, sit up straight, stand up straight, don't drag your feet, do something with your hair, go clothes shopping with a good friend (they might tell you what you look good in), do something quiet on your own (read a book, go for a walk or jog, sit outside, listen to music), find an excuse to send someone you know a card (write something nice in it), quit smoking, Avoid negative body language (putting your arms in front of you is defensive. Try to keep your arms by your sides, in your pockets (not to often) or behind your head etc.). Go to bed early, get up early, watch the sunrise, say 'Hi' to people you see in the street who you know, cook, compliment the cooking of others, invite your neighbours over for tea (and biscuits), say one nice thing every day (What nice weather we are having, thanks for .... ). Smiling is the easiest thing and the most important.
Don't feel bad if you don't do them all. But don't give up on doing them.

easiest way is to find something you are really good at that can, in some way, positively benefit others.

Example:

I am a writer and I am looked up to by my peers. I tutor students and offer guidance on writing papers and coming up with ideas. I am very good at this, therefore my self esteem is increased.

Maybe you are good at a particular sport. Perhaps you are good at math and can possibly offer help to others who struggle with it. Most people have at least one thing they are great at. Focus on that and work at it till you aren't just good, but great. That will boost your esteem to new heights.
