What is the average cost of a computer in 2010?

This question has many variables, do I will assume its all averages.

For an average mid-range DESKTOP:

$500 (Not including Monitor, mouse and keyboard)

HP Pavilion with Intel i3

For and average mid-range LAPTOP:

$600 (Full mobile package)

Acer 14" with Intel i3

Both these computers have about equal specs.

The cheapest, or the ones on sale would be less than $2000. But if they weren't on sale, the ones that are a higher standard or better technology would probably be around $3000 for sure. The average of an Apple Mac is pretty expensive and I don't think they ever change their price.

However the average computer price was $700-800 for desktops and $1200-1300 for laptops. If the trend continues, there may be overstock of mid-grade computer systems on the market.

I brought one in only Rs 20,000. It was 3.0 Ghz processor, 1 Gb Ram and 120 Gb hard-drive with 17'' CRT and all other equipments necessary like ups,keyboard,mouse,etc.
