Howdy=IT depends on the breed really and how much work u want it to do, if yooh've got a hardy kind of horse like a shetland doing medium amount of work it will be about 26.==if its more of a TB on medium amount of work about 22. the best thing to do if i was u is to type it onto Google it will prob be a better answer then me.==:)=

As soon as you notice the horse's coat colour turning greyish, they're sleeping and resting more, seem to be ambling along slower and weaker, they should be retired. Excersizing is a healthy idea though, and they can still be used for pleasure riding.

it varys but at about 3 - 4 they are at there prime then anything after 7 you could expect them to retire.
