A traditional Haiku poem consists of 17 syllables, typically divided into three lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively. There are no beats in a Haiku poem, as it is based on syllable count rather than a rhythmic beat like in music.

5, 7, 5

in English Haiku if you are defining beats as SYLLABLES. The number of ACCENTS or beats would be

2, 3, 2

The syllable count should be less important than that of accents, but has become the de facto English standard.

A HaiKu doesn't have to rhyme, in fact most don't. It's the syllable count that's important - 5 in the first line, 7 in the second, 5 in the third.
