The one referred to as the 'Blessed Sacrament' is usually the Eucharist or Holy Communion also called the 'Lord's Supper.'
The Blessed Sacrament is another name for the Eucharist, which is the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Christ, given to the Church at the Last Supper and at every Mass.
The sacrament of the Holy Eucharist is when you eat the body and blood of Jesus Christ hidden under the appearances of bread and wine. When you receive it you ask Jesus to come to you, make you a better person and free you from your venial sins. By receiving this sacrament your soul becomes one with Christ.
The term is capitalized to refer to the Eucharist or communion. It should be understood there are seven sacraments- and The Bible does not have any rating of one over another. Of course the Eucharist comemorates, in fact, re-enac the last Supper and the blood sacrifice of Christ, so it is pre-eminent. curiously, hymns aside- the word Sacrament is not found in the Bible proper! The Baptists prefer the term Divine Ordinance- no, not l05MM with Holy Water blessings.
Usually known by its Latin title, Corpus Christi, the Feast of the Blessed Sacrament was established in 1246. Its observance was extended to the Universal Church by Pope Urban IV in 1264. It is celebrated on the first Thursday after the feast of the Holy Trinity, and some dioceses move it to the following Sunday. It celebrates the Body and Blood of Christ.
