Instead of paying a fortune to get TV where you are bombarded by commercials from companies that are already paying for program production, you pay even more to get 'subscriber' TV without the commercials, and maybe some additional channels. I grew up when all you needed to watch TV was the TV and an antenna, and up-to-date electric service. No one can explain to me how the high cost of TV and hundreds of redundant channels makes any sense AT ALL.
