Scientology is a religion created by the well known science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard. The primary reason that a lot of people believe it because they like the core values and ideology that it teaches. Unlike most religions, scientology is relatively new and therefore needs significant funding from its followers. The church raises funds by allowing a follower to learn its sacred knowledge in exchange for money. The sacred knowledge is broken down into levels, each costing more and more money. This is why you see a lot of wealthy people join scientology because only they can afford to truly get into it. However, you don't really need to pay any money and you don't really need to know any of the sacred knowledge. That's supposedly just a bonus for those who can afford it. Most of the core values and teachings of scientology are freely available to anyone. However, many critics think scientology is ultimately just a giant money making scheme. L. Ron Hubbard was thought to have said, "You don't get rich writing Science Fiction. If you want to get rich, you start a religion."

What is the significance of prayer songs in a ceremony?

Scientology doesn't force you to do anything therefor you have a choice on what you believe as a Human Being so the songs in ceremonies are your decisions and the Scientologists don't mind.

Is there a dresscode in scientology?

No, there is no specific dress code. Being respectful of yourself and others is an important element of Scientology, so I personally like to reflect that in my style of dress. A Church of Scientology is run much like a professional university, such as a law school, and therefore encourages a professional demeanor. Staff members have a dress code and sometimes a uniform to wear. This seems to vary by location.

How did scientology get to be a religion?

Well, most people do believe in god, or a powerful being. But there are some people that do think we evolved from other animals such as Apes. For example, scientists..... they believed there had to be a logical explanation for how we were made. So they started to hypothesize and came up with a conclusion, that science explained it all. But not just scientists believed that science explained it, others did to. So they made it a religion for other people to believe. Hope this helps!

What do scientology's believe?

Scientologists would believe that you are a life-force, that life entity that animates the body. There are many words for this such as spirit and so on. Scientology itself is about the laws that govern this life-force and spirit and how by knowing and using these laws of life you can be bettered. They are not the same as physical universe laws. This knowledge of life's laws is important as then you be in control of life instead of affect of it. The practical side of Scientology is about using this knowledge to help yourself and others. The closest cousin to the Scientology belief would be Orthodox Buddhism. While Scientology is not a belief system, it does allow you to rationally work out things and then project that workability onto different problems. There is really no blind faith in Scientology. None at all. If Scientology is real for you, then it is. If it is not, then do not say it is. This is personal integrity in Scientology. Do not say something to be true if it is not. But in reading your question I would think you might want to know - what do Scientologists come to understand to be true after doing Scientology? Each Scientologist would answer this themselves from their own standpoint in Scientology. Scientology teaches you how to work out life's problems using the philosophy of Scientology, and how to make yourself more able. So you could get many thousands of different answers to this question. But I will tell you my own understanding after 25 years of Scientology. I understand that I am a spiritual being, more than a body. I understand that my integrity is very important to me. I understand that I have memories going back well before this life time. I further understand that the body also has a set of memories we call the reactiove-mind and that they go back the nine months before pregnancy and this is the subject called Dianetics. I could overload you. But I hope this is enough. The links show more.

How can it be that people join Scientology and are happy with it their whole life without getting the urge to leave?

The followers of every religion will say that their religion is best. And, just as Christians will say that Christianity is right above all other religions, so Scientologists may say that theirs is the true religion.Presumably Scientologists believe that Scientology contains truth about the universe, as well as finding comfort and a sense of purpose. Of course, that is a matter of faith. There is no available evidence to prove objectively that Scientology is true.

Who do the Japanese call their GOD?
