It depends on what type of surgery they are going to use to remove the appendix. If they do it via laproscopic surgery, her recovery time will be much quicker than actually having to cut her open and remove it. Recovery time for a laproscopic surgery is between 2-3 weeks, it also depends on how your mother comes out of surgery (i.e. any infections, complications). She should not be in the hospital for more than 2-3 days as long as the surgery goes well.

Good luck.

If the operation was done via keyhole surgery, your stay is (usually) around 1-2 days. If the surgery required an incision (such as in a laparotomy op.) to remove the appendix, your stay will usually be 2-3 days.

It depends. Was it an appendix that was enlarged but not ruptured? Perhaps a few days. If it was more serious, and depending on other complications, could be longer.

If your appendix is removed is it taken through your belly button?

There are different types of surgery for appendicitis. Your surgeon may operate through a large cut (incision) in your belly or use a tool called a laparoscope to remove your appendix through a few smaller incisions. Either way, you may take antibiotics before your surgery, after your surgery, or both. There are advantages and disadvantages to each type of surgery. Talk with your surgeon about which type is best for you. Note : If your appendix does burst, you will need antibiotics. Surgery to remove a burst appendix may be more complicated.
