It depends on the agency, which I have just found out are many. I've seen some start at 750 per month. It also depends on the child's needs. They give you more if the child is older, have mental or physical issues.

Can you be a foster parent for a child left to you in a will?

First of all can a child never be left to you without a judge having a say. The will is just a request form the parent. You can seek for approval for being the child's foster parent, of course. Then it's up to the socialworkers.

How hard is it to be a foster parent?

Being a foster parent is a good thing to do; it might be hard, but isn't all parenting? (It really depends on the child and how they were brought up before.) The hardest thing might be giving the child up after your time with him/her has passed.

Can anyone be a foster parent even though they do drugs and drink?

Dear God, I hope not. If a foster family celebrates a special occasion like their anniversary, and they DO NOT get drunk, I would think that's ok. I would even think it's ok to have a glass of wine w/dinner, but it is not ok for a foster parent to get drunk. If there is drug use, and it's not something that's given due to a medical condition, then a foster parent should never do drugs. The foster parent(s) have a duty to set a good example, and to certainly do it while being sober. If you are in a situation with foster parent(s) doing drugs and drinking, you should let your case worker know. If you are asking this question because you want to become a foster parent, please keep in mind that these children are probably coming to you out of a bad situation. For the sake of the children, don't even try to foster a child if you are drinking and/or doing drugs. It is a privilege to have a child in your home, and that child deserves all the love and support he/she can get.

Can a foster parent leave a foster child in a care center at a gym?

If the child care center is being used for it's intended purpose, i.e. providing child care for a certain amount of time either for a fee or as part of a membership service, there is no difference between the foster parent and a biological parent. There is no law prohibiting foster parents from utilizing child care services. If you are instead questioning the propriety of the location of the child care because it is in a gym, as long as the care center meets the requirements set down for child care providers in their state there is no problem. If the foster parent does not have an agreement with the care center to provide care and instead is just dropping the child off, this is not okay, and would not be okay for a biological parent eiither. It then becomes the responsibiity of the care center employees to contact the proper authorities to report the problem.

Do foster parents who adopt still get monthly assitance?

Sometimes, the amounts vary by state, and work on a case by case basis. In general:You will get an adoption subsidy if you are adopting special needs children (medical, severe behavior, autism, sibling groups, mixed race, children older than 8 years old, etc)You may be able to negotiate one with the case manager regardless of special needs.

How are kids picked for foster care?

If the child is taken from the home and has no relatives/family friends to take them in. If the child is being abused at their home. If the parent(s)/guardian puts them in foster care because of their behavior problems, the inability to care for the child (financial/emotional), or if the parent just plain doesn't want them anymore (the courts will terminate their parental rights completely).

How to verify a child is in foster care system?

If a child has been adopted due to termination of the biological parent(s) rights, you cannot find any public records. If a child is in out-of-home-placement temporaily in a foster setting, the biological parent(s) would know where the child is. So depending on if temporary or permanent fostering is being done would affect the answer

What is difference between adoption and guardian?

Being a guardian/foster parent, you get paid for everything. The child recieves many benefits. Such as Vacation Fund, Or Recreational Fund. Depending on the childs time in care as well, they're eligible to receive free schooling throughout College/University. But being an Adoptive parent you cover the costs of everything. I have personally grown up as a foster child, Been adopted, & unadopted once again. I know how this works.
