Pay as you go is where you buy a top up voucher in a shop (usually £5 or £10) and every time you make a call or send a text, the money is taken off until you have no money left. Then you go and buy another voucher.
Contract is where you pay a certain amount of money each month and you get as many calls and texts as you like.
Pay as you go is better if you don't really call or text that much. Contract is better if you do call or text a lot.
