Generally, lubrication means the addition of a substance that reduces friction between two parts. Metal pieces use WD40. Cars can use 30 or 40 weight oil. Same with lawnmowers, small appliances, furnace blowers, etc.

For sexual areas, lubrication is a liquid, such as K-Y Jelly, that makes the erect penis more slippery and decreases friction. It allows for easier penetration into the vagina and adds more of the "wet" feel.

NOTE: Never use petroleum oils made for metals on any part of the human body!
