∙ 14y agoA herbacious plant with tiny stems that are only a few milimeters in height and long, slender leaves. It contains no branches like trees, shrubs and forbs do, and its growth points are very close to the ground. They flower by shooting their growth points up on one single stem and opening up the inidividual "flowers" or inflourescences to allow pollination. Once finised the inflourescence closes and hardens, becoming a seed. It is the fundamental plant that all grazing herbivores survive and live on, and is also the fundamental plant for creating "green spaces" on our lawns and in our parks.

∙ 6y agoGrass is a non-woody herbaceous plant with jointed stems and a single stem of a "spike" or "panicle" of wind-pollinated, green flowers. Grass is found all over the world, including Antarctica, and makes up a significant part of our lawns, livestock pastures, and native grasslands.
