Google Earth is a software product provided by Google that allows a person to explore every corner of planet earth as well as under the ocean. It also can explore the Moon and Mars.

Google Earth is available as a desktop software application in a free version and Pro/Enterprise versions for Professional/Business users with an annual subscription. There was also a web browser plug-in version of Google Earth that can be customized using a JavaScript-based Google Earth API., but that has been deprecated and no longer supported by Google.

Google earth is a thing where you can look at places all over the globe.If you want to go on something similar to Google earth go on Google.com and click maps and if you type in an address and zoom in on the map you can see the place that you have typed in

Official definition...a virtual globe program that shows the earth by the superimposition of images obtained from satellite imagery, aerial Photography and GIS over a 3D globe

There are 2 different modes� Sky view (which is satelite images of overhead shots) or Street View (which is new, they are panoramic on-ground images - based on roads only because the cameras where attached to cars)

Some resolutions arent great if the area is not popular/heavily populated. Rural areas tend to be pretty fuzzed out or you can't zoom in as much. Some images that are dangerous to national security are blurred so you can't see exactly what is going on. There was a fear that terrorists would just be able to google a buidling or landmark to map out locations.
