It could be irritated skin among other things. The products you currently use to wash you face, cream, shampoo (washes on your face), they could have chemicals in them that are irritating. It could be a reaction to your workplace, foods, products you use. Usually an itch like this indicates that you have a pinched nerve located on your spinal cord somewhere. Most of the time it will eventually go away on its own, but sometimes could take awhile. The nerves on your spinal cord are connected to different parts of your body so it is hard to tell which nerve is pinched without looking at a reference book about the nervous system.
Do you use soap every day in that area? If so, it is the soap you are using, and it is drying out your skin. To prevent and treat; use lotion with lanolin in it.

It shouldnt, you either dont wash yourself regularly enough or you have a dealdy fungle rash that, if untreated can spread to you genitalia and kill you. It shouldn't necessarily be an infection of some kind. Sometimes it is due to the friction caused when one walks real fast.
