A black out is when lights in a certain area go out. For example, lets say that all the people in you're neighborhood got hit by a giant hurricane and all the lights go off and won't turn back on- well this is a black out.
Blacking out is when you either pass out and cannot remember what happened, or you get extremely close to passing out, causing your vision to go black due to the lack of blood in your eyes causing this "blackout". It usually happens when you stand up too fast, and sometimes your eyes may have a dull ache afterwards. Of course, you regain your vision within seconds.

Warren's Blacking Factory was a factory where Charles Dickens worked as a child, pasting labels on bottles of boot blacking. This experience had a profound impact on Dickens and influenced his writing, including themes of poverty, class struggle, and social injustice in his novels.
Blacking, a substance used to polish and shine shoes, was traditionally made from a combination of ingredients such as soot, beeswax, and oils. The soot would be mixed with the other ingredients to create a paste that could be applied to shoes. Over time, commercial blacking products have been developed that may contain different ingredients for better performance.
