Bisexuality is a sexual orientation. It is one of the three main classifications of sexual orientation, along with heterosexuality and homosexuality. It involves physical and romantic attraction to the same and an other gender -- or put another way, a bisexual is someone who is attracted to both male and female people (but the term can also include attraction to people who present as androgynous or intersex, outside the usual male/female binary).

Bisexuality does not require that a person be attracted equally to both sexes. People who have a distinct but not exclusive preference for one sex over the other may still identify themselves as bisexual over the course of their lifetime to take into consideration the entirety of their lifelong sexual attractions and romantic experiences. Bisexuals are no more or less monogamous than people of other sexual orientations, despite a long-held myth that 'true' bisexuality requires two or more simultaneous relationships.

Bisexuality has been observed in every human society and throughout the animal kingdom.
