Acetate is made from wood pulp. It has a low strength when wet, and is not very absorbent. Moths or mildew does not affect it. It drapes well, but avoid wringing - drip dry only and use a cool iron. ...A synthetic fiber used to make fabric with a silk‑like appearance which resist stretching and shrinking and are moderately absorbent.

Acetal is a polymer used in manufacturing. In the USA also commonly known under DuPont's brand name Delrin.
