I have read that your portions should be the size of the palm of your hand. So it is different for everyone. Like if you wanted to eat a chicken breast, eat one that is about the size of your palm, no more than that. Never eat till you are full or stuffed. To eat healthy you need to eat several small meals throughout the day and not large meals once or twice a day.
For a Gourmet Chef, the portion size CAN NOT be bigger than the size of your palm

well, either you have a very fast metabolism. ( if you are very skinny than you most likely do ) Or if you are really used to eating a lot of food daily than your body is used to consuming a lot of food in one day. If you have trouble with your weight, than i would suggest cutting back your portions of food, and go hungry. Not starve yourself, but if you cut back on your portions, than your stomach will eventually shrink in size, and you will get fuller more easily and you will not be as hungry as often.
You should not eat dog food at all.
For some people but not for others. At any rate, you should eat moderately on all the food portions but you can double the amount of vegetables. Vegetables are very low in sugar but some fruits are sweet. If you are prone to diabetes, it is best to practice caution on all sweet food items.

Toddlers can get all the nutrition they need by eating the same meals as the rest of the family, but the you should keep your specific toddler's needs in mind when preparing his/her food. You may need to make adjustments to create a more toddler friendly meal such as, smaller portions, cutting larger food into bite size pieces, and including some finger friendly foods while he/she is still mastering the use of a fork and spoon.
