This is an astronomer. This kind of scientist doesn't just study stars though-he investigates all kinds of celestial bodies in the galaxies such as planets, moons, nebulae, and black holes. An astronomer uses a telescope as in instrument to help closer observe and inspect particular celestial bodies in space.

There are basically two types of scientists that study astronomy. Astrophysicists and Astrobiologists. A Cosmologist is a scientist who tries to explain the fundamental workings of the Universe through mathematics and equations.

Astronomer. Astrologist is a common misconception, however it is very different. Astrologists study and interpret the cosmos and their function with humans and terrestrial matters, while an Astronomer studies outer space for scientific benefit.
