A jumping gene, also known as a transposon is a gene that can move around, and sometimes even jump to other chromosomes.
Every few cell division, transposons will copy it self and simply pick up and move else where, jumping at random to a new location on the chromosomes taking the genes with it.

transposons
Since gene is the carrier of heredity it is very significant entity in each and every organism.
The sex linked genes cause genetic disorders on the basis of gender. For example color blindness is human is located on the X chromosome and is reflected in males more frequently.
hmmm Im not sure and no one can really know for sure, perhaps 12?

transposons
Transposition- "jumping genes" genes that move around almost randomly through the genome in maize or corn
making it easier for people to get diseas.
Define the term halotolerant and discuss Why organisms of the genes genus staphylococcus are significance to the food industry in this context
Compared to jellyfish, the increased number of genes made evolution of more complex body forms possible.
It helps to maintain genetic diversity.
To be frank, transposons effect genes when they move, or jump to a different location and cause mutations. If it doesn't cause a mutation, it inactivates the gene. For instance, in Indian Corn, some pigment genes are not expressed in some cells because they have been disrupted by jumping genes. Hope that helped you finish your homework Bud!! =D

Fertilization allows babies to have genes from both parents. Fertilization is when they get their chromosomes for the traits they will have.
