idle pulley is a pulley on an engine that does not drive any accesories ,such as water pump or alternator. it is put there to route the belt so as the belt will not hit or rub on other parts or accesories
The idle or pulley will have movement in it, when the engine is shut off. It can also have a visible wobble while the engine is running.
it is located to the right of the fan at the bottom.next to the idle pulley.
theres gonna either be a tensioner bolt or tensioner pulley... u should beable to locate waterpump, crank, a/c, alternator, powersteering, idle pulley. knowing the car woulda been easier
Because the bearing in it has worn out and it is locking up causing the belt to break.
i cant seem to get my tension idle aligned properly.. i think it's the washer alignment is wrong. 2000 qx4 top idle pulley
Your alternator is not functioning per the manufacturers standards. When it is at low idle the pulley is spinning considerably slower resulting in less output. A new alternator will fix your problem.
To do this, you need to remove the front pulley. Unscrew & slide the the bolt out of the front pulley. The front is made up of 2 halves spindle sheaves. You may need to remove also the front wheels to make room. When installing the new belt, you need to stand up the edger to rest the edger's front on the ground to compress the spring in order to have room to insert the new belt. Start from the engine pulley, wrap the belt onto the 2 idle pulleys. The "V" side needs to be onto the top idle pulley & the 'Flat' side needs to be onto the bottom idle pulley (this is important belt pattern). Then turn the belt 90 degrees counterwise from the bottom idle pulley & wrap the "V" side onto the front pulley. While the belt is onto the front pulley, insert back the bolt into the front pulley to install the front pulley. Put everything back together & that is it. Looks hard but really simple. The user manual is not clear on this. The belt MTD part number is 754-04032B. Hope this helps. Good luck. check tensioner pulley and idler pulley if equipped.
Thermostat regulator is malfunctioning, water pump pulley could be bad, gas bubble in radiator hose.
My KIA 2004 Sedona ex is running hot only at an idle , when moveing it regesiters fine.
The squealing a scraping is most likely the idle pulley. i would replace that and the belt then see what happens
check the serpentine belt .also check all the pulley wheels especially the belt tensioner.one of the pulley wheel bearings may be badAnswercheck the serpentine belt .also check all the pulley wheels especially the belt tensioner.one of the pulley wheel bearings may be bad
