∙ 12y agoBees are initially laid as eggs--one per hexagonal cell of honeycomb. Within three days, they hatch and become larvae. Later, mature bees place a wax cap over the top of each cell and the larvae become pupae, also called capped brood. So, in short, bees do undergo metamorphosis.
