A thesis statement is just you stating your opinion that can be argued. Liek an oreo cookie :D

Top layer: State a fact, something true about the religion relevant to your opinion.

Middle layer: state what you believe or are trying to convince or whatever, aslong as it can be argued.

Bottom layer: state why your opinion makes a valid case.

(make sure its just one sentence too silly)

Negative:

Christianity focuses on love and forgiveness but at the same time practices colonialism and Imperialism so this religion is a huge contradiction and abuses it's "power" because it continually causes conflict but believes love is most important and simply forgives itself and expects others to as well for all the fights it causes.

Positive:

Christianity focuses on love and penance and unlike any other religion will allow you into heaven and make you a very good person because no matter what you have done in the past you can always make it up in some way.

:D hopes dis helpsed.

A thesis statement is usually a single sentence somewhere in your first paragraph and presents your argument to the reader. Use a thesis statement when an assignment asks you to analyse, interpret, compare and contrast, demonstrate cause and effect, or take a stand on an issue. The statement tells a reader how you will interpret the significance of the subject matter, in this case the death and resurrection of Jesus.

A good thesis statement is therefore dependent on what you see as significant and on what stand you will take in your essay. Any one of the following examples could suit this subject matter, depending on how you wish to address the issue:

  • The death and resurrection of Jesus were the two most important events in human history.
  • We can be sure that Jesus died on the cross, but what we can never be really sure of is whether he rose again from the dead.
  • Jesus died for our sins and rose again so that we might believe in him.
