The Dually halter works by applying pressure to the horses facial nerves over the nasal bones of the face. There is an extra nose-band made of rope attached to the halter and that is the part that applies the pressure when engaged. If the horse misbehaves the handler can apply a small amount of downward pressure to the lead rope and the halters nose-band will engage and cause discomfort to the horses face causing the horse to stop misbehaving. It should be noted that there will be some pressure applied to the poll area also as that is the normal function of a halter anyways. So the Dually halter will apply both nasal and poll pressure.
