Digital Photography is a form of photography that uses an array of light sensitive sensors to capture the image focused by the lens, as opposed to an exposure on light sensitive film. The captured image is then stored as a digital file ready for digital processing (colour correction, sizing, cropping, etc.) Now the important thing is will digital make you a better photographer ? and should you go digital ?

A digital camera will save the picture onto a flash memory card instead of on a photosensitive paper (film) that would need to be developed (which is how a regular camera works.) This is a camera that does not use film, but instead stored the photographs in a digital format in memory on the camera. These images can then be downloaded to a computer.
To use intead of a real camara.pictures can be uploaded on the computer

Answer 2

Firstly, camara is spelt camera. Secondly, a digital camera is a real camera (see above answer), it's just that it uses different technology to record the image. It does not use a film. It uses a sensor which records the image digitally (i.e. as a computer file). This can then be either printed out, using appropriate software or saved on a computer and altered by apprpriate software and/or printed from there.

3. A body of photographs.

Or if you want to get technical about it:

4. the process or art of producing images of objects on sensitized surfaces by the chemical action of light or of other forms of radiant energy, as x-rays, gamma rays, or cosmic rays.

Cameras use two methods to record an image (picture), film or pixels. Digital cameras record the pictures electronically in pixels, thus the photographs made with digital cameras are are called digital photographs.

A digital photograph is an image that initially is recorded on a disk or memory card in a camera rather on film. Thus the image exists as digital information rather than as an impression of light on a film surface. This digital image can then be transferred to a computer directly, where it can be viewed and modified and sent to a printer or shared with others electronically via e-mail or a Website.

And if that's not succinct enough, digital images are made up of 0's and 1's (binary data) that record each present color's hue, saturation and transparency.

The word 'photography' came from two greek words. The first is 'photo' which came from the greek word 'phos' which meant light, and 'graph' comes from 'graphe' which is 'drawing'. 'Photography' as a complete word describes drawing with light.
