There are a lot of things that we do (habit wise) that are bad for use. Some bad habits can have a serious effect upon the body; some can cause long-term health issues and diseases. Your bad habits can cause some diseases or health issues which can, not only cause you to feel unwell; they can also be quite serious, even deadly.

  • Eating too much salt - can raise some people's blood pressure.
  • Smoking cigarettes - can cause cancer and other respiratory issues, COPD, Asthma, emphysema, chronic bronchitis…
  • Over eating or eating the wrong types of foods- can cause obesity, high cholesterol, sugar imbalance (even Diabetes).
  • Excessive sugar - is linked to a number of health issues, not just diabetes.
  • Eating excess fat and cholesterol - does not only cause obesity, it can cause heart issues which can kill, and it can even lead to one having a stroke.
  • Not getting enough sleep (by choice or not) - can lead to high blood pressure, effect you metabolism causing weight gain, can effect diabetic insulin levels, among other things. Getting at least 5 hours of sleep per night can help one avoid a number of health issues.
  • Excessive sun exposure, especially if you don't use skin protection - can lead to skin cancer, as well as other skin issues such as Grover's disease, early skin aging, and it can cause cataracts.
  • Not drinking enough water - can lead to kidney disease in some individuals. Drinking excessive amounts of alcohol - can lead to liver failure, cirrhosis, kidney issues, brain cell damage…
  • Biting your nails - this can lead to a serious infection, even blood poisoning.
  • Excess caffeine - can cause ulcers, high blood-pressure, anxiety…
  • Taking excessive amounts of OTC drugs or prescriptions - can cause a number of health issues, effecting your heart, liver, lungs…

Not resolving your bad habits, poor eating, lack of exercise, smoking, excessive drinking, worshiping and over exposing your skin to the sun rays, can lead to a number of health issues and diseases; any of these will shorten your life. None of these bad habits are infectious.

You can improve your health and live a longer and healthier life, if you control your habits; reduce or stop smoking, improve your diet by avoiding excessive fats, sugars…, getting regular exercise; even improving your sleep pattern by keeping a reasonable and regular sleep schedule will help you live a healthier life.
