A "militant agnostic" is a person who insists that the knowledge of the existence or non-existence of a god is and always will be an unanswerable question. This differs from a so-called "transitional" or "questioning" agnostic who may be searching for an answer, and has the hope of one day discovering that evidence for him or herself; or because the subject is is simply unimportant in their lives.
