it is a collection of 72 gold on silver Worl;s First Stamps. I bought one of this collection to The Franklin Mint in 1980. I conserve these stamps in a three pages exhibiting book. What will be the value of this collection at this moment? Thst is my question. Regards..........Eduardo Hewnriquez - USA
The current bid on eBay in Dec 2007 is $160 for the complete set.
Almost none, it is a single extremely thin layer of gold on a piece of foil. It would not be measurable.
They sell on ebay for $275-$475 for the set.
worthless sh*t!
This medal weighs 6.34 ounces of Sterling Silver for an Actual Silver Weight (ASW) of 5.86 ounces of pure silver.
1000 grams sterling is currently worth about $415 ... 1000 grains sterling is worth about $27
Each plate contains 10.6 grams of silver
The Franklin Mint Robert's Birds collection was issued on 2" sterling silver blanks weighing 65 grams each. This equals 2.09 troy ounces. Since sterling silver is .925 fine (92.5%) silver, this means there is 1.93 troy ounces of pure silver in each of the Robert's Birds pieces.
2,86oz pure silver
No. Sterling Silver is 925 Silver (they are one in the same)Sterling Silver - Sterling silver is a composition of 925 parts pure silver with 75 parts of copper
"Sterling silver" refers to the purity of a particular silver object - specifically, sterling silver is 92.5% silver.
$37.50 are those the plates with motorcycles on them?
If you have the Sterling Silver version (says Sterling on the edge) figure roughly the melt value of 1 oz. of silver - $10-$15. ::further contribution:: Actually, the sterling silver Roberts Zodiac coins have no sterling content marking whatsoever. In terms of value, it depends on whether or not you have the mini coin or the large size. The large coin is 7/8 oz silver.
Oxidized silver is not necessarily sterling silver but sterling silver can be oxidized. Oxidation is a finish on silver, otherwise known as tarnish. Sterling silver can tarnish and silver plate can tarnish, too.

Hi,silver plating over sterling silver is not real sterling silver.Sterling silver is a unique blend of silver and usually copper. It contains 92.5% silver, that is why the number on sterling silver jewelleries and other stuff is 925.
