UV light for a swimming pool is a physical system. A "system" is placed after the pump and heater. Water passes by the UV light bulb and is sanitized. There are no chemicals generated, no disinfection by products, andUV destroys more bacteria, germs and virus than any other system. This is considered UV-C germicidal wavelength. Some Ozone generators use UV -B a lower wavelength to generate ozone. Though these systemsprovide significant sanitation close to the level of UV, they generate disinfection by products and create respiratory irritants. Cleaning up a swimming pee-ulUV stand for Ultraviolet and passing these rays through the waters of a swimming ppol sanitises the pool. As you know the swimming pool is a confleunce of human urine of all smells, odours and density. The water is stagnant and collects all body dirt and refuse when people revel in taking a swim or bath in the pool. That's why people used to take bath and swim in the free flowing waters of the rivers where no dirt collects. Sanitation of swmiing pools used to be done through adding chemicals but again these chemicals affected human bodies and some chemicals induced urination. Added to this it is only natural for anyone to pee at the touch of cool water. So now they have come up with the UV treatment of the water so that people can bath, swim in a stagnated pool of urine and refuse....That a swimming pool is of water is a myth...actually it is an amalgm of urine. UV treatmen is already in vogue for drinking water and it is said to be effective.
