It is a love story about a young postulant from an abbey in Austria that is sent to be a governess for seven mischievous children belonging to a handsome, older man, Georg Von Trapp, during WWII. All seven children and their father end up falling in love with this young woman, Maria, even though Captain Von Trapp is engaged to be married to another woman. The plot becomes suspenseful when the Aunschluss begins in Austria and Captain Von Trapp refuses to submit to the Third Reich. In fear of punishment from the Nazis, the Von Trapp family, and Maria, must find a way to escape to Switzerland.
The play pushed a number of dramatic frontiers. There was open discussion of politics (Nazi German) and religion as plot elements- while billed as a musical comedy there was scant comedy in the play- limited to some Mickey-Mouse like ( by the way Mickey-Mouse is hyphenated in German of kids lining up on stairways- Christmas- special style, The basic plot, if stripped of musical elements was rather heavy stuff and might have been considered- Family on the Lam. I saw the play ( produced by a Road company) in l962 in Williamsport,. Pa., Knowing little except it was supposed to be a musical comedy- I was utterly turned off. also showed law-enforcement officers ( SS-Men) in a negative light. I just did not like the play.
"How do you solve a problem like Maria?" is one of the songs from The Sound of Music. The problem the nuns have is that Maria just isn't working out as a nun. The Von Trapp family is faced with the father's conscription into the German military in World War 2 as Germany takes over Austria.
Okay... Maria is a nun at a convent in Austria BUT she sings too much so they kick her out. She goes to be a nanny at Captain Vontrappe's house. His wife died and he has 7 kids that he can't look after. Maria finds out that they are really bad and can'tn keep a nanny for very long. Eventually she teachs the children how to sing and play but the dad (the captain) only likes them to march and do lessons. He is always away visiting his girlfriend. Eventually he softens up and lets his children sing and play. He then proposes to his Girlfriend. Maria goes back to the convent. The children are sad. The nuns tell Maria not to hide from her love for the Captain (because she fell in love with him). She goes back to find he is getting married. Then, the captain decides he no longer loves his girlfriend and falls in love with Maria. They get married. Then, Lisa (the holdest child)'s boyfriend becomes a Nazi souldier. Uncle Max wants everybody to sing in the concert so he can get lots of money. They agree after a while. The Captain is called to go to war so the familly have to flee. They baisically have a big hoo haa gettign away but win the concert competition thing and go to Switzerland :) Seen that film a heck of a lot of times :)

Play music as loud as possible and see what happens u stupido
No. Sound is anything from an explosion to a thousand nails on the blackboard, to the most beautiful music you have ever heard. Music is an organized niche of sound, an area where sound is at it's very best. But while music relies almost 100% on sound, music is not the same thing as sound. Sound is a much broader category.

Music is just one type of sound. If a tree crashes, it makes a sound. Whether you consider that sound to be music depends on you. Generally, people would define music as sounds made by musical instruments one after the other to produce a pleasant listening experience. A tree crashing would probably not fit this definition, but then crashing of cymbals happens during some music pieces and it's not unlike a tree crash.
The Sound of Music was filmed in Salzburg , Austria and in Bavaria , Germany .
