Barbados weather is consistently warm throughout the year with an average high temperature that ranges only a few degrees -- from the low 80s Fahrenheit to the mid 80s.

Average low temperatures (nighttime) also vary only a few degrees and are usually in the mid 70s.

Rainfall varies much more depending on the time of year. The average winter months see a few inches of rain, but the total climbs to about six inches or more in August through November, which are the peak months of the Caribbean hurricane season.

It is claimed that Barbados is geologically unique, being formed of two land masses that have merged together to form the present island. Also, the upper layer is largely limestone-coral, rather than volcanic, which is unusual for a Caribbean island.

Barbados may also be culturally unique, especially in comparison with neighbouring islands/countries because it a mix of British and West African cultures. Formerly a British colony, it gained independence in 1966.

BARBADIAN CULTURE: As a result of the historical heritage of Barbados, various elements of its society reflect, to a greater or lesser degree, both the British and the West African influences.

For example, governmental and educational system, traffic laws, national sports, and religion (mainly 'Anglican'), are very much 'British.' But in the more creative aspects of life, e.g. music, dance and the arts, the West African element is clearly evident.

Barbados schools are mostly run by government making them free. They, like all schools have shortcomings most notably (not necessarily my view)

a system where the faster learners are separated by the slower learners

Generally, most are slightly over crowded class room sizes of 30 children unless at what the nation would consider top schools where the teach to student size drops.

The secondary schools are geared towards a system of testing CXC and CAPE exams - where the emphasis can be too focused on the Caribbean experience at times. Don't quote me on this lol.

The primary schools are likewise focused on an examination which many think can determine their future known as the common entrance exams. It is used to separate the students into schools by scores.

If this is not enough info or you which a more specific answer on some aspect of Barbadian schools you can reply here or ask on my site
