Well, solar energy can't really effect the earth but there are some impacts: it is very weather dependable, the actual manufactured of solar cells uses a lot of energy and releases toxic pollutants...

Take a torch (flash light) and a carpet tile.

Place the carpet tile on the floor and standing directly above it, Hold the torch 6 feet (2 Meters) away form the carpet tile and switch it on.

The light from the torch will form a circle in the centre of the tile.

Now move 6 feet to the left and keeping the torch 2 foot off the ground shine the light on the tile. The light form the torch will now form an oval which will be bigger than the carpet tile. The energy form the torch is spread out.

The Earth is a ball in space and the Sun is the torch. Where the sunlight hits the Earth's surface from directly above, the energy form the Sun is most concentrated but as you move north or south (and indeed east or west) from this overhead position the angle of the light from the Sun gets more and more oblique, the energy from the Sun is spread out more.

The Earth spins tilted on its axis as it orbits the Sun. Thus the point at which the Sun is directly overhead moves North and South of the equator during the Year and this means that for 6 months the North gets more concentrated sunlight than the south and vice versa for the other 6 months.

This is what causes the seasons and the warming and cooling that accompanies them.

the earth is tilted so the north pole that we normally think of, isn't the actual north pole. what it is is the magnetic north pole (where compasses point).

but that's not really relevant.

since the earth is tilted, less heat arrives to certain parts of the earth. i'm not sure about this next one but it may be because the earth's revelation is an oval, not a complete circle.

the tropic of cancer is when winter is in the southern hemisphere, the tropic of Capricorn is when winter is in the northern hemisphere. when winter is in the Southern Hemisphere, the north is tilted towards the sun and vice versa.

i think i covered most of it

The sun faces the part of the earth that is tilting towards it. Its like shining a lamp on something. The part that the light is on, is bright (equivalent to heat) and the part tha the light is not on is darker (equivalent to cold)

The same amount of solar radiation is spread over a larger area on earth. So each bit of the earth gets a smaller share of solar radiation.

How Does the tilt of earths axis affect the number of daylight hours and the temperature of a location on earths?

If the Earth's axis was vertical - every point on its surface would have the same length of day and night, no matter what time of year it was. The tilt of the axis (to about 11 degrees) means that, as the Earth rotates, and travels around the sun, the length of day shortens and lengthens throughout the year.

What are examples of the earths axis?

north pole

What causes saesons?

Because the Earth is spinning - at about 1000 miles per hour at the equator.

Is the north and south pole on a axis?

The North and South Poles are indeed imaginary points on the Earths surface where the line of the axis of it's spin would pass through.
