More than likely they would be placed under arrest or at the very least restriction pending results of an investigation by his immediate superiors and NCIS. If evidence is found then the person would be remanded to custody pending summary courtsmartial. The punnishment would vary depending on what exactly the offense was and what the JAG determined to be apropriate.
At the very least I would expect the servicememer would be reduced in rate, lose half a months pay, and more than likely given a dishonorable discharge. That would be in cases of possesion of child pornography or utilizing government assets to obtain or view child pornography. If the complaint involved actual physical contact, then the punishment may also include imprisonment in a military prison facility, time to be served determined by the severity of the offence.
