The first effect of the english conquest of Quebec was the royal procalmation, an english act that narrowed Quebec to not much more than the St-Laurent french settlement. They imposed the "serment du test". It was a written obligation to leave the catholic religion in favor of Anglican, If the obligation were not to be signed, it was forbidden for the french to get and hold any business other than fishing and farming. They abolish the catholic church and destroyed seminaries. They constructed what was considered essential: horse race ring, prisons, and gallows in Quebec, Montral and Trois-Rivieres.

On the good side, they imported the concept of inoncence until prooved guilty in court (under French law, you were guilty as charge until you prooved your innocence),.

And, of course, Quebec became English possession.

How did the battle for Quebec affect the war?

The Battle of Quebec was the last battle in the French and Indian War. Because the British won this battle, they won the war. Quebec was an important fort for the French, therefore it probably had a lot of supplies in it, which the British now had. Also, the French used the Saint Lawrence River a lot for trade and shipping. That river, which was below Quebec and Montreal, was now in England's control. This would have been a serious blow to the French.
