Hi,
The courtesy lights are really controlled by the Body Control Module (BCM), but there is a main fuse that supplies power for the courtesy light function. I believe it is fuse # 35 in the fuse panel that is located in the passenger side dash panel.
I have included a link that has a picture and drawing of that fuse panel (see below).

If the brake lights do not work on Chevy Venture van 2000, try to disconnect the brake switch. Then short the two contacts of the connector to check if the brake lights are now working.
if your cig light is not working as well, the fuse is in the glove box top and last in that row, had the same problom.
What fuse controls the brake lights on a 1998 Chevy Camaro? It should be labeled on the fuse block.

The ctsy fuse is for your courtesy lights. These include your dome lights, vanity mirror lights, and any other small misc. lights in your truck.
Alternator is going out? battery is going bad?
