I have had burning mouth syndrome for 6 years 7 months. It hasn't eased one iota. I would be interested if any other person has this irritating condition.
I, also, had this. I stopped using any toothpaste or mouthwash with sodium laurel sulfate. Biotene is a product sold at CVS and it's cheap which doesn't have it....I use Welada from Whole Foods though...pain was gone the next day. You are seeing many shampoo mfgrs saying they don't have it so...I think it dries out the skin/mucous membranes/oral tissues and it's like having very, very chapped skin...it burns and it hurts. when I stopped using any tooth products without it, the pain was gone the very next day.

What is interesting is that even though I have already had chicken pox when I was little, the BM symptoms began a few weeks after I had come in contact with a child who had chicken pox. This may be the reason for burning mouth syndrome knowing that the herpes virus effects the nerves in the mouth. It is worth asking your doctor about !!!!!
