The Wart learns how to not be a tyrant (he doesn't just learn this from the badger however, but also from the hedgehog he encounters and threatens). Think of the Wart's social status compared to Kay's. He is a complete underdog. Then think about what he experiences with the hedgehog. He is the greater force here. By choosing not to kill the poor creature, he learns how to not be tyrannical to those who are of lower classes than himself. Then, with the wise badger, he learns about a story of the humans' origin. From Sparknotes.com : In the beginning, all animals looked like shapeless embryos. God offered to alter each of them in three different ways. The animals chose things like claws for digging and large teeth for cutting. Man was the last embryo to choose, and he chose to stay just as God made him. God therefore gave him dominion over the animals and the ability to use any tool he wanted. Here the Wart learns to be content with what is given to him, even if he is less fortunate than others.

In 'The Sword in the Stone' movie, "Wart" is young King Arthur before he became king. He went to go find an arrow in the woods and then he got lost. I think he learned that it's scary to be alone and lost. Also he might have learned that there are dangers in the forest. I'm trying to remember the movie. He meets Merlin while he's in the woods. Merlin explains to him that he should read books and study. That is more important than being someone's squire.

How do you draw a katana from the sheath properly?

There is an entire Budo art dedicated to drawing a sword, cutting, wiping off and returning the blade to the sheath. It's known as Iaido. There is no one way to draw a Katana properly - it depends on the instruction given to the student by the Master teaching Iaido. While you could learn the basic moves from a book or video, it's not the same as actually being taught how to perform the moves and then practicing it until it becomes instinct and fluid movement, and not something that is thought about prior to performing. I've attached a link to the Wiki on Iaido, but if you really want to learn, find a local dojo that teaches it properly and learn there.

There is some confusion about which sword was actually in the Stone. In some versions, Excalibur is the only sword in the story and the name Excalibur comes from the Welsh Caledfwlch. However, other stories have Arthur being given Excalibur by the Lady of the Lake some time after he began his reign (after he breaks the Sword in the Stone while fighting Lancelot).Arthur is a legend with many sources: Welsh, Irish, British and Norman.
