When a GSD is carrying his tail upward (in a gentle curved way......not upright or vertical), this is an indication that the dog has gathered enough confidence in himself and wants to assert dominance or show bossiness. If the GS carries his tail high up with a sharp upward bend, he tends to show his dominance with aggression.

∙ 14y agoA tail standing up means the dog feels safe, happy and confortable, if the ears are down. If the ears are up, it might mean your dog is in alert state. If the tail is down, in the other hand, it mean the dog is afraid, nervous or uncomfortable. So, tails up!!
