Innuendo is a technique for saying something while apparently saying something else. Seaside postcards are a typical example. eg Man to female greengrocer "Can I just feel your melons?" . What did he mean? Did he want to feel the fruit on sale to check it or maybe something else...?

Suppose I were trying to say that I wanted to hint at an annoying friend to leave the room. I might say:

"Well, there's one too many people in this room my friend." Looking at him of course.

Now, the more common form of innuendo is sexual innuendo. An example of this lies within most "that's what she said" jokes. I won't give specific examples because I'd rather be clean on a public sight. I'm sure by now you've got the feel for it though, sarcasm and innuendos go hand in hand.
