Dark earwax is just earwax that has been in your ears for a very long time. It doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with you, but if you are experiencing any discomfort or hearing loss you should see your physician immediately. Otherwise you can just use some of the over the counter medications or such to break up or soften the old earwax & make it easier to remove.

∙ 13y agoMy son is nine years old and since he was one week old, he has had dark earwax. I asked the doctor and she stated that some people sluff off more red blood cells in their ear canals than others. It was recommended when he was little to put peroxide in his ears and it would go away..... never happened. He's never had an ear infection and despite this minor oddity praise God he's been perfectly healthy, and best yet he has perfect hearing.
So don't worry and don't let others worry. Your/your child is perfectly fine.

∙ 11y agoIts there to help protect something in your ears. Perhaps an ear infection. Just go to the docter. They will clean out your ears to see whats going on. They will give you something to cure it.
