A Neurophysiology technician monitors patients for nerve conductions and brain wave activity. A neurotech can also work along side a surgeon in the operating room. The mix of diagnostic equipment and monitors are some of the tools used to check for Multiple Sclerosis, carpal tunnel syndrome, spinal injuries and brain wave activity. Electroencephelograms (EEG), Electromyograms (EMG), and Evoked Potential are some of the standard tests performed. You could expect a Neurophysiology technician to be on call a times and work with out patients as well as in patients.
