What is the proper etiquette of family toward family when a family member dies?

1) The death certificate should be issued by a physician

2) The death must be registered (within a certain number of days) by the next of kin.

3) The surviving family should be informed

4) The funeral should be organized and held (you may make a notice of this in a newspaper)

5) The will (please everyone make a will if you don't have a will things can get very messy and expensive to sort out) should be found and the executor should get this passed though the courts of probate.

6) After will is passed the assets of the dead person should (after any taxes and or outstanding debts are paid) be divided up as the will requests.

* When there is a loss etiquette can sometimes go out the window because the family is grieving. This is a time when family gathers together and should become closer. Depending on the person who has passed away it is the person closest to them (such as a parent, husband, wife, etc.) that will make plans for the funeral, memorial service and the family meets at the grave site to say their last goodbyes. Then the closet family member of the deceased may have a gathering at their home for the people at the funeral (which would be announced in the church or chapel) and Sandwiches, tea, coffee and desserts would be offered.
