Take some OTC antidiarrheal medication, stop all solid food for 24 hours, drink plenty of water and diluted sports drinks.

When the diarrhea stops you can go back to soft food for a day starting with bananas, plain rice, apple sauce, then toast, with weak tea. As long as the diarrhea doesn't come back, watch what you eat for a couple days, stay away from sugar, fried, greasy, or spicy food.

If you have been running a fever, having nausea or abdominal pain - see your doctor.

To remember which food, in which order remember B.R.A.T.

Apple

When experiencing diarrhea, it is generally recommended that you drink lots of fluids, like water. The BRAT diet -- bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast-has been a traditional fix for decades to treat diarrhea. Eating soups and/or vegetables and fruit instead of canned foods or fast food is a good idea.

Try lying on one side of your body, and you might be able to feel it moving through your gut. Remember that your intestine is zig-zagged, so lying on one side, turning over and overall trying different positions can really help digestion, which reduces pain and force when the diarrhea actually comes out. Drink lots of water, get lots of fresh air!

Be sure to drink plenty of liquids as to replenish what your loosing. Also it may sound crazy but get some children's pedialite. That's a very good way to get rehyrdrated & replace electrolytes. Sometimes drinking it warm @ room temp is better. If u don't feel like drinking you can always get the pedialite pops.

-If you are ok with that, try something like rice krispies or something

-If you have a bug, stay off work or school

I follow a good diet (no milk, no cheese, no fried food, yes bananas, yes apples, yes toasted bread, etc..) and I drink a lot of water and apple juice.

I prefer natural methods, but if it last more than 2-3 days I go to see my doctor.
*You should spend a day just drinking water if it is bad, then if your ok at the end of the day with no more attacks, then try some dry toast, just a little like a slice. If you have it again, consult a doctor. Take imodium instants, because they actually work! Good luck*

You need to limit what you are eating to the BRAT diet: bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast. Also, make sure you are drinking lots of fluids. This will help your system catch up and resolve the issue. Then, you can go back to your regular diet.
