Be the best friend you can be....listen to your friend. Let her talk. She may want to tell stories about her granddad. Ask her questions about the fun things they did together. Also, its good to laugh once in a while when you are grieving. Take her to a movie or out for lunch. Give her a funny card. If you had any experiences with death, tell her so she knows you understand. otherwise just say, "I don't know what you are feeling, but I care that you are so sad".
