What do you do if your in laws always want you to work as their maid servant and take everything away from you and you have become very depressed over this situation?

- If you and your husband are living with your in laws then it is up to both you and your husband to help with chores and earn your keep if you are not paying rent and this is not considered maid service. If you are paying rent and staying in another part of the house helping the mother in law with preparing meals also is not maid service. If you are Asian, Hindi, etc., then this puts a different slant on your situation because family members can certainly gang up on especially young women that marry into the family. If possible you should be discussing this with your husband and if he has no solution or is not interested in how you feel and it is possible for you to leave then do so. There are Women's Abuse Centers where you can go to received protection; programs to help you; legal counsel and help finding a job.
