Buddhism says that you should not believe in anything without reason. A quote by Buddha from the Kalama Suttra: DO NOT believe in tradition, merely because they have been handed down for many generations and in many places. DO NOT believe in anything because it is rumoured and spoken of by many. DO NOT believe because the written statement of some old sage is produced. DO NOT believe in what you have fancied, thinking that, because it is extraordinary, it must have been implanted by a divine being or a wonderful person. After observation and analysis, when it agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, only then accept it and live up to it.
To start with Buddhists believe in the Four Noble Truths
All aspect of life are essentially unsatisfactory and cause some degree of suffering and pain. Now this ... is the noble truth of suffering: birth is suffering, aging is suffering, illness is suffering, death is suffering; union with what is displeasing is suffering; separation from what is pleasing is suffering; not to get what one wants is suffering;
The Noble Eightfold Path has its elements divided into three basic categories as follows:
the four noble truths, eight fold path, stuff regarding the truth in human life which relates to surferring (something all human have to go through) and sins (something all human should avoid). they also beilieve in karma, which is similar to currency but in the form of sins and good deeds which will decided who you will born as when you reincarnate in your next life. oh ya, reincarnation is main belief in buddhism.
some buddhism believes in washing sins by doing some mantra and meditation and some blessing but there are those who denies it and believe that sins can only be wash away by good deeds or become unattach to anything (means you reach a point where you are happy and greed free)
First off Buddhism has no gods, no prophets. The ideas of Buddhism were developed about 2500 years ago by a man named Sidartha Gautama, later knowm as Buddha, in northern India by observation, meditation and thinking. He concluded that:
All people's lives contains a degree of dissatisfaction. We are not happy with what we've got, we want more. etc. This dissatisfaction and the desire to correct it leads to sadness. However there is a way to escape this sadness, it involves the identification and control of desire.
There is is a route to this state of improved happiness. These four points are known as the four noble truths. The route is the eightfold path.
In Buddhism you get many lifetimes (reincarnation) of trying to gain the control of desire until you reach an enlightened state like Buddha's. An enlightened person can enter Nirvana when he dies, a state of unity with all sentient beings which is nor happy sad or anything. Alternately he can return to Earth to help others pursue enlightenment,
nirvana-the state of perfefct peace
Also, Hindu and Buddism believe that souls can be reborn into a new body after death, also called reincarnation
Sometimes when I'm asked to describe the Buddhist beliefs, I say this:
(1) Everything is connected;
(2) Nothing lasts;
(3) You are not alone.
These first three are really just a restatement of the traditional Three Marks of Existence: non-self, impermanence, and suffering. The fact that we all suffer means we are all in the same boat, and that's what allows us to feel compassion.
(4) Life is full of suffering
(5) Suffering exists because of our desires and aversions.
(6) There is a state of mind in which suffering ends (enlightenment).
(7) There is a path to attain this state; That path is called the Eight Fold Path.
Items 4 - 7 are the Four Noble Truths.
(8) Bodichitta (Loving- Kindness / Compassion) is the first step to enlightenment (and to solving the world's problems)
(9) The 5 Precepts concisely describe a moral life
The 5 precepts are:
(1) not to take the life of any sentient being,
(2) not to take anything not freely given,
(3) to abstain from sexual misconduct and sensual overindulgence,
(4) to refrain from untrue speech, and gossip, and
(5) to avoid intoxication, which leads to losing mindfulness.
(10) Mindfulness of thoughts and actions are the key to wisdom and therefore to the path of enlightenment.
Lastly, followers of the Buddha are typicality called Buddhists.
Buddha believes that if he is bad and when he dies he goes to hell in my case but he actually believes that he is reborn as a worm
The Buddhists don't believe in a god. Buddhism simply means "The serious persuit of true happiness for oneself and others."
Buddists follow the teachings of Buddah and do not worship a God
Buddhism is a non-theistic religion. It does not deal with belief or disbelief in God.
No Buddists do not go to a church.
There are 18 000 buddists in Sweden.
Because Christianity is not practiced by many there. I believe there are a lot of Buddists there.
Buddists wear nothing but robes as a sign of restect to their gods.
In bed
no they are t christians.....
Wesak.
The Buddha.
yes
well the reason is normally the religion but other rimes its just what they want to believe. the buddists believe they will be reborn as a different animal human or alien with swords through their belly's (this is all true).
