I reckon this is mostly found in a wire connected to the picture tube of your TV. A flashligh battery is 1.5 volts. The DC on your pic tube may be 25 thousands volts or more. Also, the term HVDC is a method of utility power transmission where buried cables use very high voltage DC instead of the usual AC to supply power over long distances. See the related question.

Electrons travel in the same direction, the current of power does not alternate.

A circuit is basically a loop of metal that allows electricity to travel in a complete circle. It must return to the source for power to flow at all. For example, electrons start at the potato, galvanized steel is effected by the acids in the potato which causes electrons to move through copper wire, into a light bulb filament, which heats up, producing photons (light), then the current continues on back into the potato, to start the cycle all over again.

Alternating current causes power to go one way, then the opposite way.

It is a machine, in which there are two types, one is Direct Current Generator and other one is Direct Current Motor.

The Direct Current Generator is a machine which converts Mechanical energy into Electrical energy as per the Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction.

The Direct Current Motor is also a one type of machine which converts Electrical energy into Mechanical energy with principle of Whenever current carrying conductor is kept in a magnetic field then the conductor tends to move at a certain angle as per the direction of magnetic flux, is called Direct Current machine.

If continuous unidirectional current is interrupted, it give rise to series of pulses or phases of unidirectional current.

A Direct current when it is made to cease to flow for less than 1 second and then allowed to flow after a pause of determined duration.

In reference to electricity, "conventional" current flows from positive toward

negative, or from higher positive potential toward less positive potential.

After this convention was adopted, it was learned later that the charge carriers

that actually do the moving are the electrons, whose charge is negative. So the

actual physical motion involved in electric current is in the direction opposite to

the "conventional" current.

Outside the battery, it is negative to positive and inside the battery it is positive to negative.
