haha, yes, just as someone said "Whatever they want to. "
or maybe it is called Pirate clothing?especially "eye patches"
Pirates wore a multitude of garments. There were breeches, blouses, canvas shorts, rags, fine cloaks, rich silks, or torn and bloody shirts. They could look like people who just washed up on shore after awrek to a fine gentleman with extreme wealth. Most had shoes, some had hats, there was the occasional eyepatch, but most always had a weapon on person. Most had at least three. Muskets, daggers, knifes, pistols, swords, rapiers, ect. Weapons were most certainly considered a garment when in the proffesion of piracy.
Whoever wrote this cannot spell shoes. They put soes. Lol
Not all pirates wore. But when they did it was the captains who wear the coats.
Only fancy pirates wear neck less but any pirate can wear a necklace

When pirates wore stripes, it was to identify them to each other and to the people they preyed upon. It was a way of striking fear into people and the custom of the people during that time to wear distinctive uniforms dependent on class.
Pirates wear hooks and eye patches. The one trying to be found now is Captain Morre's hook and eye patch. It is most likely hidden where his ship sank.
Pirates would wear whatever they could get their hands on. During the age of piracy, there were laws put in place limiting what clothes people could wear. These laws were created to differentiate the upper class and peasants. When pirates would raid boats some of the most sought off items were high class clothing. The pirates would then hold a small "auction" and the pirates would bid on the clothing. The proceeds would often go to the ships "maintenance" but would often end up in the pocket of the captain. One of the reasons pirates are often pictured in "clashing" outfits is because they very rarely were able to buy a whole outfit in the "auction". Pirates would usually only wear there "prizes" out about town because wearing them aboard the ships was very impractical.
