For years he left his wife and 6 children on the farm in Brainbrige, Massachusetts to work tirelessly for the revolution and along with Jefferson and Franklin he spent several years in France trying to raise troops and money. In 1789 he became the first Vice President under Washington and served as the second President of the United States. All the way to the day he died he fought for the common good of the people and to make sure that people were protected by law. His writings show a man who understood the purpose and the need of government. It is too bad he is forgotten to time and not read today.
