During Jesus' life he performed miracles, brought people to the lord, spread God's word, and died to pay for our sins. Through his parables, He taught a philosophy of brotherhood, compassion, and charity among men.

He preached the message of the Kingdom showing that by means of that Kingdom all peoples needs will be satisfied. He cured the sick, lame, blind and deaf showing on a small scale what he will accomplish when that Kingdom is fully ruling over the earth.

Another answer:

Jesus did many miracles while on earth for example He raised people from the dead, healed the sick turned water into wine, opened the eyes of the blind. He did these things to show the nation of Israel He was the Messiah, the Son of God. Jesus came first of all to the nation of Israel to call them to repentance

Matthew 15:24 But He answered and said, "I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."

So much of His teaching was for the backslidden nation of Israel. For example the parables of The Lost Sheep, The Lost Coin and The Lost Son all refer to the nation of Israel. Jesus' teaching stressed repentance and turning to God. Jesus also forbade His disciples to go anywhere else other than to Israel:

Matthew 10:5,6 These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: "Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

But the nation of Israel rejected Jesus as their Messiah

Another thing Jesus did while on earth was to die on a cross to provide a way for man and God to be reconciled. After Jesus' death and resurrection the way was now open for all people, Jew or Gentile, to come to God, on the basis of Jesus' death being a suitable sacrifice to appease the righteous wrath of God:

John1:29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

1John 5:11,12 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

According to The Bible, he healed many people, taught great moral truths, opposed the Jewish religious establishment and was then crucified, but rose from the dead on the third day.

In Mark's Gospel, and to a certain extent in Matthew and Luke, Jesus sought anonymity, frequently telling those he helped not to say who he was. It was not until his fight with the moneychangers that he really drew the notice of the priests in Jerusalem. Even at his arrest, the priests needed Judas to show them who Jesus was.

On the contrary, in John's Gospel, Jesus went out of his way to be noticed. In this Gospel, he fought the moneychangers at the very beginning of his ministry and made every effort to be known as the Son of God.

After his resurrection from the dead, Jesus appeared to his disciples, except in Mark's Gospel as originally written. Mark originally ended at verse 16:8 when the young man told the women that Jesus was risen and they fled in terror, telling no one - the "Long Ending" (verses 16:9-25) was added later to provide a description of when he appeared. In Matthew's Gospel, he appeared to the disciples once, in a mountain in Galilee. In Luke's Gospel, he appeared to the disciples in and near Jerusalem, after which they watched him taken bodily up to heaven on the evening of his resurrection. In John's Gospel, he appeared to the disciples in Jerusalem and by the Sea of Galilee. In Acts of the Apostles, he remained on earth for forty days, after which they watched him taken bodily up to heaven.
