What did Jesus do while on earth?

Another thing Jesus did while on earth was to die on a cross to provide a way for man and God to be reconciled. After Jesus' death and resurrection the way was now open for all people, Jew or Gentile, to come to God, on the basis of Jesus' death being a suitable sacrifice to appease the righteous wrath of God:

John1:29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

1John 5:11,12 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

In John's Gospel, he appeared to the disciples in Jerusalem and by the Sea of Galilee. In Acts of the Apostles, he remained on earth for forty days, after which they watched him taken bodily up to heaven.
